New Beginings

Autumn, many see it as an ending. We are saying goodbye to the warm days of summer. This gardener sees it as a very exciting time of the year, a  fresh start, filled with potential.

It’s the time of year that you can take a stroll around your yard, and take stock of the past growing year. What worked? What didn’t? What would you really like to do? It’s time to start planning next years gardening extravaganza! Take pictures for future reference. I take monthly pictures so that I remember what colour and size of all my plants. wp-image--330523793

This is also the time of year that local gardening clubs start up again. They are an excellent source of local growing tips, most have wonderful plant exchanges. There are many facebook online groups as well. So get out there and meet some friends!

Here in the country, we are busily harvesting our veggies and firewood, getting prepared for winter, as are many of our neighbours.

It’s a wonderful time to take a hike through the countryside. Here’s to new beginings and happy harvest!wp-image--965236085
